Warning Zone Or Yehuda
Defence Zone Dan
Time allotted to reach the safety zone - One and a half minutes .
One must enter the safety zone and remain inside for 10 minutes.
Upon hearing a siren, one must enter the safety zone within the allotted time duration.
Choosing the Safety Zone
The safety zone is chosen in accordance with time allotted from the moment the siren is heard based on the following preferences:
- Mamad (safety zone per-apartment) or Mamak (safety zone per-floor)
- Bomb shelter
- Bomb shelter in an apartment building – on condition that the shelter is internal and located inside the building and on condition that it can be reached via an indoor stairwell independently during the alert.
- Public bomb shelter – on condition that it can be reached in the required time duration from the moment the siren is heard.
- Indoor Stairwell
- Dwellers of the top floor apartments in a building of more than three floors without a per-apartment, or per-floor safety zone or an internal shelter, will descend two floors and remain in the stairwell. In a building with more than three floors, all stairwells are protected on all floors except for those on the ground floor and on the top two floors.
- Dwellers of the top floor apartments in a building of three floors without a per-apartment, or per-floor safety zone or an internal shelter, will descend one floor and remain in the stairwell. In a three story building the most protected stairwell is on the second/middle floor.
- In the event there is no safety zone per-apartment, or per-floor, or internal shelter, or indoor stairwell, one should choose an internal room with minimum exterior walls, windows and apertures.
Please Note
- During an emergency, leave the entrance door open for the benefit of those who are outside.
- Do not choose to stay in the bathroom or the shower. Stay away from ceramic or other tiling and glass that may shatter.
- Civilians are not to remain in the entranceway to buildings due to the danger of shards and blast waves following missiles falling close to buildings.
